Taipei is the capital of Taiwan situated on the northern tip of the Island. It has about 3 million inhabitants which results in a population density on about 10.000 people / square kilometre – one of the highest in the world (the number varies a little according to where you find it, because some places it even says 15.000 people / square kilometre).
